The Art of Brick and Light

The Art of Brick and Light

This project involved the transformation of a family home in a small village in West Sussex, where the brief was to create a modern, functional living space that complemented the clients’ refined aesthetic tastes. The design sought to enhance the home’s spatial quality, prioritising generous, light-filled rooms while providing ample, practical living areas.

A key feature of the project was a single-storey side and rear extension, which introduced a new kitchen and dining area, as well as a redesigned entrance and improved storage solutions. The reworked ground floor layout maximised flow, creating a more open and connected living environment.

Externally, the home’s appearance was refreshed with a full facelift. The front elevation was rendered for a sleek, contemporary finish, while painted timber weatherboarding was introduced to the side elevation, bringing texture and visual interest to the property.

This thoughtful combination of functional improvements and aesthetic enhancement has delivered a home that balances modernity with warmth, offering both comfort and style for a lovely family.
