With over 40 years industry experience, Turner & Hoskins is a design-led architectural practice, committed to ensuring that clients get exactly what they need from their project.

We are passionate about aspirations and dreams being realised in functional and inspiring reality. We believe that good design and attention to detail can permeate through a building and improve the way a building is perceived, used or lived in. We do it well, and it changes people’s lives for the better.

Established in 2002, Turner & Hoskins is a Kent based, design-led architectural practice with a passion to realise your project. There isn’t a ‘Turner & Hoskins’ style, rather a team of experts who seek to understand your dreams and make them a reality. Approachable and good-humoured, our team offers over 40 years of architectural expertise whilst maintaining the highest technical standards and incredible attention to detail.

From drawing plans, putting together a planning application through to total project management and delivering the end product, we help our clients realise what they want from a building.

We believe in listening well and working hard. Through innovation and creative suggestions, we aim to make buildings work for you. Drawing out hidden depths, seeing the untapped potential of a building together with understanding your lifestyle and needs we aim to bring lasting and effective solutions.

We believe that good design is paramount to the procurement of a good building.

From our Edenbridge base, we work throughout southeast England, regularly completing projects in London, Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Essex, Middlesex and Hampshire. Our sphere of work will stretch further if needed and the project warrants it.

We are an enthusiastic, hard-working, fun, eclectic group of people who believe in excellence, and understand our role as a service provider. Each member of the team brings significant input, support and suggestions.

We have fantastic conversations about many things – not just architecture! We like to laugh and enjoy what we do.

Vicki Turner

BA(Hons) Arch., Dip Arch., RIBA, MFPWS

Vicki is the ‘Turner’ Director and together with Tim ensures the smooth running of the practice on a day-to-day basis. Multi-tasking is second nature as she designs, draws up schemes for planning, building regulations and construction, runs projects on site, liaises with clients and other key professionals, as well as being overall Office Manager and Administrative Director.

Vicki loves to work with people in their homes, teasing out the spaces they are looking for and critically asking the right questions that are keys to unlocking a successful project.

Passionate about making a difference to someone’s life, Vicki’s work is highly personal and her aim is always to strive for excellence. Plus she loves a good book!

Tim Hoskins

BA Hons Dip. Arch RIBA, OND Building Studies, HNC Building Studies

Tim is the ‘Hoskins’ Director, who together with Vicki ensures the work produced is of the highest standards and wherever possible exceeds the client brief and expectations. Taking projects from inception through to ultimate realisation, providing clients with a uniquely crafted solution that fulfils individual requirements and realises their dreams.

Having trained first as an architectural technician, Tim has an excellent and in-depth knowledge of construction and building detailing. He can help ensure that a design can be realised as he really does know how to build stuff!

Hooked from childhood by seeing construction drawings on a drawing board, Tim is passionate about materials, their colour, texture, appearance, use, and how this can both change and be used within a building to best effect.

“The human mind is brilliant, and the capacity to use it, to think, to dream and to envisage should never be diminished – CAD is only a tool to help us, and shouldn’t be used as the design tool; that is a privilege reserved for the creative mind.”

Kim Assémat

BA (Hons), MArch

Kim originally joined us in 2013 for her year in practice as a Part I student; we were very pleased she stayed for two years and felt the loss when she returned to university.

Following her qualification as an Architect, and a spell working in London, we were over the moon when Kim re-joined us in May 2021.

In her spare time, Kim designs and creates handmade eco-friendly homeware, and is working hard breathing life into her new home.

Veronica Lees
