The Bookcase Door

2015 completion of a whole house refurbishment in Balham included a loft conversion, ground floor extension providing a brand new kitchen/diner with an Industrial Victorian aesthetic, and a rear addition giving a new utility room. Concrete floors and worktops add to the industrial feel. The tapering nature of the boundary allows for a secret bookcase door hiding a convenient toilet facility.

Retention of the original plasterwork detailing in the lounge gives a ‘gentlemen’s club’ feel. Extensive internal remodelling has given a first floor master suite with bedroom, bathroom and dressing area. The refurb included a complete re-wire and re-plumb. In addition, external works re-levelled the garden and provided new paving and external structures.
