If you go down to the woods today…
We’re thrilled Planning Permission has been granted for two eco-tourist cabins we have designed within the South Downs National Park.
We set the cabins within clearings in existing woodland, close to the Cuckmere River. Including timber cladding, we sought to use contemporary materials that will sit well in the woodland. We felt metal roofing should used for longevity, and resistance to the trees, whilst aluminium windows will ensure thermal efficiency. Each cabin has a lounge with log-burner, kitchenette, shower room, and sleeping gallery above; well, everyone needs a little bit of luxury! Large windows will ensure a visual connection with the woodland.
We considered the impact of the cabins on the local environment, and included bark pathways, low level lighting to the paths, cycle parking, and electric vehicle charging.
Work due for completion mid 2020.
