A Middlesex school required a new reception classroom, additional intervention spaces, a meeting room for staff and parents, and staff office accommodation.
Careful co-ordination by Turner & Hoskins was required in order that the majority of work would be undertaken in the summer holiday. Early challenges included liaising with London Fire Brigade and building control authorities to establish parameters for building work, and keeping the school running with a safe environment for children.
Vicki enjoyed excellent working relationships with the Head Teacher, Finance Manager, Governors, Staff, Parents and the various members of the design team. The result is the production of successful spaces enjoyed by all and that benefit and enhance the learning experience of the children.
A separate design proposal provided a solution for extensive drainage for the school orchard to relieve flooding in the wetter months of the year.
