Ravensbourne School in Bromley prides itself on being forward looking, centralising creativity and innovation in all that they do. It was no surprise therefore that they looked for an innovative solution to providing a new social area for their sixth form.
With an existing ‘plain’ building, the school requested an appealing addition, with construction to be completed while the school continued to function.
A modern ‘diner’ style solution was conceived with the curving design breaking the perpendicular arrangement, drawing visitors to the school. This attractive design, highly visible from both the main road and school entrance won a Bromley Borough Council Public Buildings Award in 2006.
