LINGFIELD LIBRARY

LINGFIELD LIBRARY

With library facilities under threat because of government-imposed austerity, Turner & Hoskins sought to help find ways for the Community to preserve Lingfield Library.

The beautiful Grade II* listed building was gifted to the community and held in trust. Surrey County Council provided staff and books but cost-cuts threatened the facilities being on offer to the community.

As consultant architect, Vicki Turner, helped the building committee identify a plan of action to completely refurbish the ground and first floor of the building as a flat to provide rental income and prepared the necessary drawings and documents to assist. The rental income covers the running costs and Surrey County Council agreed ongoing provision of books.

The project was successfully completed in June 2013.
